What is Uji tea?
Uji tea is known for being of particularly high quality among Japanese teas, and is valued as a luxury tea backed by history and tradition. There are a variety of products such as matcha, gyokuro, and sencha, and they are particularly characterized by their deep flavor and aroma.
The definition of Uji tea is as follows:
Uji tea is tea produced in the four prefectures of Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, and Mie, which have developed together as Uji tea, taking into consideration a comprehensive perspective of history, culture, geography, and climate, and is finished and processed in Kyoto by businesses in the prefecture.

What is Wazuka tea?
Wazuka tea is produced in Wazuka Town, Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture, and Wazuka Town is known as the "tea producing region of Kyoto Prefecture."

The relationship between Uji tea and Wazuka tea

Tea leaves produced in Wazuka Town are often not sold as "Wazuka tea" on their own, but are distributed under the brand name of Uji tea. Therefore, when consumers purchase tea as "Uji tea," it is often tea leaves produced in Wazuka Town that are used.
